Re: Logitech Remote Choice help please...

Hi

I have just done the same analysis and came to the conclusion that the 885
was the only one to go for. The reason was the new PVR devices reliance on
coloured keys for on screen actions. I have a Toppy and Thomson DHD4000.
None of the others even came close. I don't have a Tivo but if it uses
coloured buttons or you use Teletext then the 885 is the one for you.

Note it is the 885 and not the 880 here as it the European model. It is
available for around 170 pounds delivered.

Hey all,
Got my toys bank account sufficiently in credit so I can have a bit of
a spend in the next few weeks.

First on the list is a universal remote control.
Have settled on one of the Logitech Harmony remotes but Im having
trouble choosing exactly which.

I was settled on the Logitech 688 (the PVR focused one) as I was
thinking of how much I use my Tivo. but recently I'm more open to the
likelihood that the Tivo will be replaced at some stage by a Media centre.

I need to control:

Tivo,
Xbox,
Media Centre
Marantz amp,
Sony TV,
Epson Projector,
Freeview box,

and maybe at some point girder using a USB-UIRT (which I assume I can
still use the harmony remotes for)

I posted this on avforums but didnt get any help so hoping someone
here can help out!

Reccomendations please, Guess Im choosing between the 688, 680, 520
and the daddy of them all the 880!

Would be happy to spend the money for the 880 if I was going to get a
lot more out of it!
