I will be using com port redirector software on windows to access serial
devices over the network e.g amplifier / touchscreens / projector  you can
also pair them up to act as 'serial extenders'. I note that a serial
connection takes up a  cat5 cables ( 2 = 2 cables / 3 = 3 cables )wheras
with these you can have a load on a single cat5 (using a hub of course).
