Thanks to all the responses!

There was some confusion in the posts ....

The pcs have failed within the 6 weeks although they have been built
for much longer than that.

There were only 3 PCs not 6.

One periodically freezes but is still useable (when not frozen), the
other two are producing Windows errors on either logging in or
booting (one related to the Gena and one with various windows
components crashing)

I suppose I'll just have to bite the bullet and rebuild - thanks for
the tip on the CD.
