RE: Speech Synthesys

There are British english TTS voices available from Scansoft ...
http://www.scansoft.com/speechworks/realspeak/demo/default.asp
Select Realspeak Solo, then English-Britsh, then try out some sentences
...

They use the windows SAPI interface so should work with any program that
uses this.

The only problem is that Scansoft has no supply chain for individuals.
(and before there is talk of a BB the minimun order is 1000 units!)

If anybody wants to obtain a copy of the Daniel voice I will see if my
supplier is willing to resell the masses.
Cost is approx =A350 for the TTS engine and a voice.

Has anyone implemented anything in this area recently? What are the
current=20
engines like, or are people still using the old faves like IBM's Crystal

Voice and Festival (for Linux)
