Re: Network Microphone

The Devolo MicroLink dLAN audio thing would do that - it has both mic,=20
digital and Analog inputs. The only thing is that it is HomePlug and not=20
Ethernet. I have been playing with this technology and I am very impressed=
=20
with it.
Assuming you want to put a mic on it you could......
Plug it in to the mains in any room serviced by a mains socket and then=20
either.....
1. Buy a second unit plug it in to the mains (within the same dwelling up
t=
o=20
approx 5000 sq ft) attach speakers and listen in.
2. Buy a home plug to Ethernet adaptor and connect it to your LAN and send=
=20
the audio as an MP3 stream to a PC with WinAMP or equivalent to decode and=
=20
record / play the stream.
You can even use it to play audio from a streamed source too.
I think you will pay around =A380 for the audio device and around 20 to 25=
=20
for the HomePlug v1 adaptors.
That said if the solution justified the cost I would ignore this and go th=
e=20
Barix route every time. If I wanted the flexibility of Home Plug I would
ad=
d=20
the adaptor to an Instreamer.
