Do you mean the actual cable signal from ntl? Or the signal from your
NTL cable Set top box?

Normally, to boost the signal that your STB is *receiving*, the NTL bod
goes to the kerbside box, unplugs your cable from the chain of
attentuators and plugs it back in a couple of sockets further up...
