The guy who up'd the BT's uses an Intel P4 Extreme chip to play .ts files -

http://www.intel.com/products/processor/pentiumXE/index.htm=20

I fear that a machine built around this chip will not exactly come cheap. A
std P4 3.6Ghz (intel 660) chip would cost me around =A3240+vat. Whereas the
3.2Ghz Extreme Chip (intel 840) from Misco weighs in at =A3330+vat :(
(http://www.misco.co.uk/productinformation/~100750~WW~/?affiliate=3D6365)=20

Perhaps streaming of HD files over Ethernet is some way off yet, if to be
done on a budget anyway.

1080 needs lots of horse power.

Have you got a 1080 panel/projector to play it on?
