RE: Ceiling Speakers

Hi

The contractor series ones I have used are the CR101. They also have a
Single Stereo unit as well which is the CR101SST http://tinyurl.com/bjzwa ,
I've not used this but I have heard one installed and its very impressive,
=
I
believe Mark Harrison has one in his shower at home!=20

I built some enclosures between the ceiling rafters and packed with Rock
Wool, makes a huge difference to bass response and stops sound encroaching
above which can be a problem if you like your music loud!! Sonance actually
do a kit for making the back box but its silly money.=20

Frequency and base is not fantastic on the CR101 but very good for a
ceilin=
g
speaker. So much depends on your personal ears!=20

If you move up the range (And up in price!) the base and freq improves a
great deal.=20

IMHO I have found that even 'average' quality cabinet speakers out perform
ceiling speakers. BUT its all a question of ears and taste! Personally I
don=92t want to trip over cabinet speakers in my bedroom or bathroom and
wa=
nt
the 'aesthetics' of ceiling mount in entertaining rooms.=20

IF you are trade or have a friendly builder/electrician with account
facilities then there is a UK trade distributor for Sonance. Contact me off
list.

HTH

Many thanks,
=20
Rob
