xAP is the way I will go for this - I had never looked at xAP before, must
say I am impressed. I also did not realise how powerful it has become.

An alternative perhaps - with even more functionality :-)  . There is a xAP
plugin for MCE2005 (MCxAP)  that will display  OSD messages sent by xAP
including CallerID and email notifications etc. It also allows image
display
and  buttons that you can add to action something  (via xAP) .
Even queues messages ( impressed by that Stuart) .

Couple this with a Meteor and your choice of other xAP apps and you're
away.
These apps could run on the MediaCentre PC
