RE: what cables to draw for a screen

As far as I know, there aren't any solutions for putting HDMI over CAT5,
so I'd be inclined to put one of these in place... - since this is DVI
compatible, you *could* connect a PC with DVI-out to the HDMI input on
the set, but that would preclude using the HDMI for a future
HDMI-equipped DVD player (unless you get into offboard HDMI switching,
which isn't particularly cheap...)

For future flexibility (i.e. keep the HDMI free for the abovementioned
DVD), I'd be inclined to put a VGA in the wall as well for the potential
future PC. I believe VGA can be done over CAT5, but the hardware to do
it is a lot dearer than a decent long VGA cable, so why bother? - Just
put a VGA cable there and save the money!

SCARTS can be switched offboard very easily, effectively, and cheaply,
so if it were me I'd only bother to put 1 SCART in place... - just make
sure it's fully wired and decent quality...

Personally, I wouldn't bother with component, as I'd want to use the
HDMI for a DVD player, which is all I can imagine you'd connect to the
component anyway... (and, if you really, really wanted component in the
future, you should be able to use the VGA input).

And as a minimum, I'd also lay 2xCAT5 cables, since it's just as easy to
lay 2 as it is to lay 1, and you never know what you might want to use
it for...

But that's just me...

Incidentally, I've just received my nice new package of shiny 32" LCD
Hi-Def ready loveliness as well! :-)
