RE: OT: Need help with SATA raid

Not sure if this is relevant as I've never Raided drives, but recently
added
a second SATA drive onto my (Raid capable) system. I had the same problem
that the computer couldn't see the second drive. It turned out that the
machine's BIOS has an on/off switch for each SATA port, and all the
expansion ports were set to off. Changed that and the drive could be seen
and the options to Raid available.

Hi guys.

I have recently finished putting together my new media server.

I have a problem with Raiding my SATA drives. I have a motherboard
that has both Nvidia raid (sata raid 1-4) and silicon image raid
(ports 5-8) I have connected two identical sata drives to it, put the
system can only find one drive. I am right in thinking that sata
drives don't have jumpers?
