To my understanding, that is correct, - there are no jumpers needed on a
SATA drive, there is no master/slave relationship, and there is only 1
drive per port/cable.

Are you connecting both drives to the same controller (i.e. ports 1-4)
or one to each, (I.e. one on ports 1-4 the other on ports 5-8)? - If the
latter are you certain the RAID support includes spanning both
controllers? - I know some motherboards do, and some don't....

Hi guys.

I have recently finished putting together my new media server.

I have a problem with Raiding my SATA drives. I have a motherboard
that has both Nvidia raid (sata raid 1-4) and silicon image raid
(ports 5-8) I have connected two identical sata drives to it, put the
system can only find one drive. I am right in thinking that sata
drives don't have jumpers?
