It's the AM12U (and the variants on the AM12U such as the AM12W which is
an AM12U without the plug and socket assembly) that have the local control
facility (otherwise referred to as "current leak").

The AD10's do not have this functionality. We use them at work to control
our fluorescent lighting (if they had local control then that would cause
fluorescents to flash). Also I use one at home to control my subwoofer (as
using an AM12 causes it to make "swoosh"ing noises when it is
turned off)
and I have one controlling Demon Spawns TV in the spare bedroom as the
sneaky little bugger worked out for himself that if he battered the hell
out of the power switch on the TV then he could get the AM12 to turn on
(then I spoiled his fun and swapped it for an AD10). ;-)
