Re: [OT] Managing Group Mail with Exchange 2003
Hiya Rob,
Must admit - when ever we do 'extra' email addresses I always work to
the rule that the account has only one email address - but can be a
member of any number of distribution groups - even if that group only
has one member.
so - you have one AD account of Rob@xxxxxxx
who is a member of several distribution groups, Pizza, Ebay, Groups etc...
Distribution groups get e-mail addresses too so you will have a
Pizza@... Ebay@ etc...
/May/ be a bit of an overkill in a small network - but its a lot easier
to see who is in what group (especially when it comes to maintenance)
rather than drilling details on each account.
You can then set up 'send as' permissions on your groups - then when you
type up a message in outlook make sure you have the 'from' field
displayed so you can change at will.
Job done!
From an exchange point of view - I don't think there /is/ an easy way
for a client to have more than one email address that you can pick from
unless you do the groups thing... (someone jump in and correct me here).
oh with the OMA - have you got AUTD working yet ! (if so what networks?)
HTH
Wayne.
ps. AUTD = Always Up To Date (sms mobile alerting of new messages)
