I'll put in a shout for Honeywell Hometronic - after all I do supply this
system alongside other HVAC controls :-) - it's a modular system and it's
Lifestyles allows easy single button control of non standard requirements -
holiday shut down (but with full frost protection), early start, working
from home etc. It also allows full room by room zoning where required even
if you have a conventional radiator based system. It has with optimum start
where the system learns the thermal characteristics of each zone and
self-predicts the required warm up time for you. Interfacing to/from the
system is straight forward using volt-free contacts, there's a voice
interface for standard telephone control and a new data module allows for
Ethernet/web based monitoring & control. Other benefits are that the
system
is mainly wireless so easy to retrofit, but it is much more expensive than
the homebrew and basic relay-based options that others have used. Mind you
it's around 1/5th the price of the smartkontrols systems that I also supply
so in that context it's a bargain!!

UK residential distribution is solely through Sensible Heat
www.sensibleheat.com <http://www.sensibleheat.com/>
(they were at the Smart
Home show at both NEC and London this year) and there are details about the
Hometronic modules at www.hometronic.com <http://www.hometronic.com/> . Just
don't bother with the Honeywell UK website as it's not very good!
