Hi Ian,

I've been looking for a decent TV-out device for years, and the best
I've managed to come up with is using the RealMagic X-Card with TVedia:

http://www.sigmadesigns.com/products/xcard.htm
http://www.8dim.com

I've got the above setup, and can confirm that it does produce a
'proper' DVD quality feed, as there's no scaling or scan rate
conversion going on. Text and graphics appear as sharp as they do on
broadcast TV - none of the usual flicker and blurring that plagues
almost every TV-out solution I've ever seen.

Unfortunately, the major disadvantage is that you're restricted to
using TVedia - no other software (that I know of) will talk to the
X-Card as it's not a general purpose graphics card.

Cheers,

Chris.
