very true Patrick, and one of the reasons I'm actually pretty laid back
about this - I'm not looking for an eclipse alternative, nor when it
comes down to it, looking for any sort of monetary solution...

what I am doing is writing to them (in ye olde paper format ;)) and
explaining that as a long term customer (heck, I was one of their
broadband champions, and eclipse helped with leaflets etc to get my
exchange enabled!) I'm more upset by the poor customer service than I am
about the technicalities of being offline for a few days.

everyone makes mistakes, it's how you handle them that matters, and I'm
not ready to give up on eclipse just yet.

Ian.
