I understand that "regular" Windows XP will simply need registry
modifications, but MCE can go into an infinite reboot mode until you use
the
repair console and repair the installation.

In any case, it's one step too many for DRM.

Let's just be clear here (no I'm not defending DRM!), removing the rootkit
with a malware cleaner will just make your CD/DVD drive disappear from the
Explorer window, until you remove some registry entries, it WON'T make your
PC unbootable...
