Subject: [ukha_d] How to get Caller ID into a PC from an ntl line...?

Hi all,

Subject line says it all really...
I have an ntl line and want to get the Caller ID data into the PC for
distribution to various devices (Tivo, Squeezebox, HV etc...).

Unfortunately, the old modem I have (Pace Solo 56) only supports BT
caller ID and, it turns out, not many modems support the format that ntl
use. As far as I can see, I have 3 options:

1. Find a modem that supports ntl's caller ID - there are some listed
here: http://www.uk-software.com/whocallingmodems.html

2. Mod an existing caller ID device - similar to:
http://www.eatworms.org.uk/ha/callerid.php

3. Find some kind of inline converter which would translate the caller
ID data into BT's standard so that I can feed it into my existing modem.
I very much doubt whether something like this exists.

Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas on the best way forward with
this...? Anyone else with an ntl line managed to get Caller ID data into
the PC...?

Many thanks,
Andy.
