According to an anonymous informer, there have apparently been several
prolonged periods during which the unit has been powered down ( you may
remember these times as "power cuts" ) and that the power supply
to the unit
has on numerous occasions been subject to surges caused by lightning. These
conditions are outside the warranty terms provided with your unit.
Despite the fact that you have obviously subjected the unit to abnormal
conditons we do acknowledge that there must have been a manufacturing fault
for the unit to fail after nine years. Under normal conditions we would
expect a pungent aroma to issue forth from the unit and for it to cease
working shortly after the initial 12 month warrany period. As this didnt
occur, we will be sending you a new unit that will perform as expected.
