Does anyone know of a very simple serial port app that can be called
from the command line and configured using command line arguments. I
need something really simple to use with my HTPC so I can switch the
input source on my LCD TV using the HTPC remote control. The LCD TV
has a serial port which offers a variety of useful control options.
What I need is something that can be called thus:
simpleserialapp COM1 9600 8 N 1 I A V D CR
which would tell the app to open COM1 with baudrate 9600, 8 bits, No
parity, 1 stop bit and transmit characters I A V D then carriage
return. After that close and release the serial port.
I could then call this serial app with a button mapping in the remote
control script file.
Hope that makes sense, I've tried googling but can't seem to pick the
correct search terms.
TIA,
Simon
