Speaker Impedance

Hopefully a quick question . . . How do you find out a speaker's
impedance? I've acquired a couple of sets of older speakers and have no
manuals etc.

If I put a multimeter over the terminals I get 8.1-odd ohms so it looks
right. However, I thought impedance was resistance to AC current, not
the DC that I assume is what my meter uses.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Tim H.
