I got a PCI Radeon 9200 a few weeks back from scan for my server (no AGP
available!), which supports 1680x1050 and I have used it with my 2005FPW
without a problem.. At the time it was about 25 quid. Its not gaming
card... But its fine for what I want!

Subject: [ukha_d] Video card for the 'bargain' Dell widescreen monitors

Hi all

I fell prey to bargain hunting and bought one of the Dell widescreen
monitors (1680 by 1050). It arrived in good time and doesn't seem to have
any dead pxels which I am very glad about. Anyway.........

It seems my rather outdated ATI all-in-wonder 128 Pro AGP doesn't speak
Dell
in that I cannot get the native resolution to work even with the latest
drivers.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice cheap video card about say
25 quid (no fans please) that will support this monitor at its native
resolution. Ironically my laptop supports it after installing the inf
supplied.

Searching retailers on the web brings up plenty of cards but no mention of
resolutions save the odd silly maximum ratings of two thousand .... by
fifteen hundred and .....

I am running Win2k and have not played a game on this machine since getting
it. It seems to be all VB, circuit design apps and Web. Very undemanding.

Thanks

Ian
