[ADVERT] Free to good home Compaq Proliant 4500R (without much power under the bonnet!)

Having to disassemble Node Zero at the moment and am minimising the number
of PC's I have.

Moving house due to a change in job.

I have a Compaq Proliant 4500R. It is a dual processor Pentium machine,
they
are either 100's or 200's (I belive they are 100's)

5 10,000 rpm scsi harddrives in a raid control, hot swoppable. etc etc +
two
spare 9.1 gig hot swop drives.

10 meg, possibly 100 meg network card.

I also have a spare chassis with motherboard, memory, a few other odds and
sods.

They are too heavy to post, I am based in Peterborough, But I work just
below Nottingham and am occasionally up just above York and Bath, so can
arrange to meet at these locations.

Compaq prolients are not the most forgiving machines to setup - I have
moved
over to Dell PowerEdge machines at work and have forgotten most of what I
learnt with Prolients! so I don't offer any tech support!

I have used machines of this power just as file servers, mail machines and
firewalls.

Otherwise I will have to put the machine in the great server room in the
sky!

Please email me OFFLIST if you want pictures, etc.

Regards

Richard
