Re: The great Sonos revoloution

I can only really give you the example of the treadmill I just got. The
courier makes the declaration to C&E, who then work out the charges.
The
goods are then not released until these charges have been paid. In my
example the firm in America used a credit card to pay the duties.

Yes, I can see he's an eBay shop. If he pays the import duty and VAT that
really is impressive - that's another 25% of the price at least on top of
that.

Just seems too perfect really. I'm assuming then he completes a special
declaration that says "hit me with all UK charges". And would
HM&CE start
chasing a non-UK citizen for payment ?

Gareth,

I think you're missing the point? Although it's ebay its not an auction,
its
an E Bay shop. He sells at a fixed price, it the "buy it now"
price. He
doesnt have just one of them. His advert clearly states he will pay all
import duty and VAT. If you click on his name you will see in excess of
£3000 satisfied customers from all over the world. You can contact them
and
ask them how the transaction went, or just rely on the comments they have
already made on the site.

His price is higher than that on the Sonos Site, but then again, can you
get
them any cheaper?
