Aside from the voltage difficulties, you have checked they all have a
common ground, yes?
Might be worth having a look inside the 9v and 12v boxes, and see if
they have a simple regulator structure, maybe they will both run on
one voltage, maybe 9v, maybe 12v. Or maybe you can de-reg and run
just 5v for the lot...?
