There's a lot to be said for standard wiring and standard patch panels
in the long term - it makes maintenance so much easier, and avoids
potentially expensive mistakes caused by misconnecting equipment.
Pulling an extra cable after you have routed the first one is quick,
easy and cheap. It's the way I'd go, even if it does seem OTT at this
stage.
