When I put my phone number into these checkers it reckons I can't get
512k nevermind 1mb, I am on 512k so I'm told, will these upgrades to 2mb
involve new kit in the exchanges and therefore can I expect to get the
upgrade or will I be stuffed. I must admit from what I've read its not
clear, well not to me anyway.

My brother has had the same email - if you pay the =A315 fee I think
it's=20
done straight away. Bear in mind this though, my wife works for BT and=20
spends most of her day testing lines for ADSL. At the moment about 90%=20
of 2mb upgrades can't be done as the lines aren't up to it, 1mb is=20
always OK though. So in reality it will be rare for anyone to actually=20
end up with 2mb.

I'm with Zen who have said nothing much to my annoyance. I'm paying=20
=A324.99 for 512mb and that is now very uncompetitive. Uncapped yes, but=20
cheap no.

Tim.
