[OT] - Panasonic DMR-E95/DvD Transfer/Home Cinema

Hi There,

Anyone else on list happen to have one of these units or know something
about them ? Or maybe know something about DVD Audio ?

OK, I basically bought a custom intro trailer from Digital Forge (http://www.digitalforge.com/) These
intro's have no protection on them, and are encoded with DD and DTS. Now,
my problem. I have a Panasonic E95 which has an internal hard drive. This
allows me to record stuff directly to the internal disk for playback later.
My plan was to have this custom trailer on the internal disk, so it could
be played before the main movie, in the dvd's drive. I also have a few old
adverts and Peal and Dean trailers on there too.. all to be played before
the main movie. This is easily done on the E95.

The problem is, I cannot seem to transfer the custom animation to the
internal disk, without loosing the DD & DTS audio. Once transferred, I
can play the intro fine, but the DD light flicks on for a second, then goes
off. The trailer then plays in what sounds like dolby surround, but with
blankets over the speakers. If I play the custom intro from the dvd drive,
it all works fine, I get full sound and everything.. it's just when it's
transferred to the internal disk.

I've spoken to Digital Forge who have been more than helpful, but sadly
unable to pin the problem down. I know the E95 will transfer DD tracks to
the intenal disk, because I successfully transferred one of the Dolby
Digital trailers.

Anyone have an expertise in this area, and willing to help me out ? I would
hate to have to not use the animation :(

Any help appreciated.

Marc
