Ah, this is a very common thing with this type of connector. I have seen
it many times in the past on other equipment and it is not just confined
to the Xbox.

Also quite common on other types of connector such as head phone jacks
where you plug and unplug all the time. The Xbox one is only really a
problem if you are unplugging and plugging in all the time.

The idea of it shorting in the article you point to is not going to
happen. What may happen is that the Xbox does not power up or a heat
rise in the are of the pins due to the high resistance of the 'dry joint'
