Which is cool - cos then we're encouraging forum use which can only
lead to increasing numbers of forum users and ultimately will allow
moderators to make a decision about the use of the mailing list (a
creaking artifact of 80's technology)
Nobody "hangs out" in forums (not unless they're workshy-fops) -
but
if folk are interested in helping out folks with OT queries then I'm
sure they'll peruse that sub-forum just as they do any other sub-forum.
If I were to put my cards on the table, I'd say make the mailing list
announcement only - and everything else is on the forum.
Announcements could be placed by moderators and would include forum
highlights amongst all the more usual news and product announcements
(they type of thing commonly posted by Mark).
