Isn't this VOIP wonderful stuff.

The phone rang and it was a Skype call routed through the PBX. The caller
was using a WiFi connected laptop on board a Singapore Airlines jumbo over
the Bay of Bengal - in cattle class! All for free. The quality was
excellent, but there was a short delay.

Does anyone know how the broadband link is routed from aircraft in flight?
From the delay it could have been a satellite link, but it seemed a bit
short for that.
