RE: CBUS - A new install

The flat is still being built at the moment - its just a shell and a
bunch of drawings.

The lighting loads I can work out - but I'll need to speak to my mate to
assertain what fittings he wants and the quantity.

The UFH would be wet, and hasn't been decided on - its all at a " I'd
like " stage at the moment so UFH *could* be swapped to traditional
heating depending on his budget.

The blinds he'll be using would be somfy (he used to work for them or
did his uni dissertation for them - I forget which)

We worked it out to be 8 switches using the normal Saturn switch -
possibly one or two of them being DLT's

With regards to the UFH - I don't suppose you could point me in the
right direction for a supplier who's 'HA' friendly? (I haven't done any
research into this as yet)

TIA

Jonathan.

Jonathan,

in addition to the information below you will need to know.....

Loads on each of the lighting circuits

Type of underfloor heating (wet or electric)

Do you want to interface to the control system supplied with the UFH or
do
you want to do all control from cbus? Please note this is not simple to
do
properly using cbus although I am currently designing a system to do
this
for a client.

Number of switches required and which type of saturn switch
The options are .....
DLTS which are 8 way switches using a LCD display
6 way
4 way
2way

What type of blinds are being used....again blind control from cbus can
be
complex to do correctly.

Finally is this all he wants to do? some other items that come to mind
are
occupancy based switching of lights, light sensor switching of blinds
and so
on.

The course was good when I did it many moons ago but the 'free'
equipment
you get on the course is based on the e2000 switches which wouldn't be
much
use to you if you are using Saturns.

Morning,

A friend of mine is due to purchase a flat, and he's asked me to
assist
with sorting out a clipsal cbus system for him.

We've worked it out he'll want:

22x Lighting Circuits
4x Zone Underfloor heating
10x electric blinds

he'll be using the Saturn for switches (if it makes any difference)

can anyone offer any advice on which kit we'll need to be using to
achieve the above?

Would it be worth my time to go on the CBUS course?

Regards,
Jonathan
