RE: [OT] Warning - Lovefilm
Just to add to this...
We got a letter from C.A.R.S. (the debt collection agency) on behalf of
Love
Film, with the usual "pay up or be dissembowelled" friendly
letter. Which is
news to us, as Love Film are paid on the nose every month by Direct Debit.
Turns out that we used to be a "DVDs on tap" customer before we
joined Love
Film, and the wonderful new system decided that we therefore owed Love Film
for the six months or so that we were with DVDs on tap (which had also
already been paid for). In the merger, they seem to have mucked up their
records a bit.
A great laugh all round, with menacing phone calls and incompetent phone
support thrown in for extra juice. The problem was "solved" three
times -
twice by phone, once by email.
Having a humour-age of five, the thing which really entertained me was the
envelope with the nasty-gram from Love-Film's debt collectors:

Irony was never their strong point. :)

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Warning - Lovefilm
In the past I've been very happy with Lovefilm's online DVD rental service
-
I've recommended it to people here and I've had their banners on my
website.
However, in the past couple of weeks, the service has taken a sudden
nosedive. They are taking ages to process disks - I've only had new ones
sent when I've hassled them by email (until now they've always sent new
disks out the same day they received the old ones back).
I'm not the only one experiencing this - there are a lot of people on
forums
complaining about this. I suspect their subsciber list has grown more
quickly than they can ope with, but it's not clear how long the situation
will last.
So, steer well clear of them for the time being.
Mal
