[OT] Sending email through a different SMTP server - Gmail invite required

I used to use Hotpopper to send email from anywhere using hotmail via
outlook express.

However it now seems that MSN in their wisdom has stopped me from
doing this.

Does anyone know of any other way to send emails via an smtp server
that is not fussy as to what ISP or domain name I am sending from?

I have a .mac account but this only allows me to send emails from a
mac.com address (annoying).

My blueyonder smtp server only allows emails from its own ISP.

Now I find that I can do it via gmail.

your-smtp-server-111166.php

But I don't have a gmail account. Anyone got an invite they can send
me please?

Regards,

Ho yin
