Yes, I know... - I've already had to repair it once, a few months ago,
following which I soak tested it for about a week solid, using it every
single day, both turning it on/off quite frequently, and leaving it
running for days on end...

And that's the point at which I put it up the shelf ready for future
use...

Bloody computers!

Paul,
There is a known problem with the book PC power supply, some of the
capacitors blow and need to be replaced. It is a fairly easy job to do,
I have repaired a couple. There was a websit with some info, and it is
in the archive having been discussed at the beginning of the year (I
guess they have all failed around the same time!)
