As you only have one cable and a single pair connected to the outlets
in the hall it sounds like you have a distribution box somewhere else
in the property.

Have a check in the garage see if there is any capping coming up from
the ground on one of the walls. Your junction could be there (my
brothers was!)

Most phones how have mastering built in (US Standard) although not
BAPT (or whatever) tested they still come in due to mass market
production and therefore do not actually need the ringer connected on
Pin3.

Although we alway recommend it is connected to accomordate legacy phones.
