Basically it's a mobile phone which, instead of having a earpiece and
microphone, has a BT style jack instead, into which you can plug any
device that would normally be connected to a landline. A typical
application would be putting a fax machine on a building site where no
landline is available. The Sagem device takes a SIM card and you are
charged for calls in the same way as you would be with any other
mobile. They are also popular with businesses, who connect them to
their existing PABX and use them for routing mobile to mobile calls
"on network", saving a pretty penny in the process.
