RE: HA enabled FISH TANK owners?

Sounds like X10 will be the order of the day. Having 40 odd LD11's and a
handful of AD10's running the house lights, I'm aware that they're not 100%
reliable - what's the danger/worst case if lights don't come on
occasionally?

Paul.

I have 3 tanks that have their lights controlled via X10 devices and
Harmony (and one other that is not up and running at the moment). I also
use my Pronto (via an IR -> X10 convertor) as an override to turn the
lights on or off at unscheduled times.

I have battery operated feeders for when I am away - these are are used
when I go away for more than a few days.

I haven't tried to automate anything else as the heaters, air pumps and
filters run 24/7 anyway.

Rob

I'm just thinking about getting a reasonably large marine tank and fish.
I'm a complete novice and will be seeking help and advice from other
quarters but wanted to get some advice from the HA enabled fish tank
owners here (I think there are a few?). What do you automate and why/how
etc?

The DVD fish tank was just not good enough ;)

Thanks,

Paul.
