The RCD will be tripping, as there is a earth leakage fault.

Looks like you may need to get a new one, or have it tested.

Other option is if possible run it from a circuit that isn't RCD protected

Hi,

My waste disposal unit keeps tripping the RCD. It's not blocked at
all and spins for around 2 seconds before tripping the RCD. I can't
see anything that could be causing the RCD to trip, no leaks, etc.

Even when the unit does get blocked the motor trips the built in
fuse after around 5 seconds.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Cheers
Darren
