Hi Kevin.
I never did open the box up & look inside, but I know what you mean
about t=
he rubbish they've written on the website... - it's amazing they manage to
=
sell anything at all!!
Yes it most definitely DOES have proper 10/100 wired Ethernet built in,
and=
it also has a 54g wireless card in one of the PCI slots. At least one othe=
r PCI slot is taken by the analogue tuner, and TBH I'm really not sure if
t=
he 3rd one was free or not.
However, if I've read the forums correctly, it isn't possible to have two
t=
uners of different types (i.e. one analogue, one digital) under MCE2005, -
=
dual tuner support only works for two of the same type - preferably,
(altho=
ugh apparently not essentially) the same make & model of card as
well...=20
That being the case, you wouldn't be able to add a freeview card without
re=
moving the existing analogue one anyway...
WRT to the practical aspects of installing a different tuner card in an
exi=
sting MCE install, I believe it should be relatively straightforward,
provi=
ded as you say, you select one that is certified (the Black Gold's for
exam=
ple).

Do you know what expansion is available in the case Paul ? The spec=20
says 3xPCI but I'm not sure what's used. I don't trust the spec online=20
as it also shows WinXP Home in the detail, no remote in the pic and no=20
network interface ;-)
I would really like to add a FreeView card as a second TV tuner. Can=20
someone tell me what the practical aspects are of adding a PCI card to=20
an existing MCE install - ie does the 'plug and play' installation just=20
work OK ? (assuming the card is MCE certified).
