Very interesting point about the mount point - I had not really thought
about temperature variations.
Most were going to be mounted at around 2 metres from the floor as I have
kit that requires 3 x cat5 points mounted on the wall.
Other rooms - where there is a convenient spare cat5 socket.

My sensors at the moment are all mounted on the ceiling, and these I use to
control the thermostat of the central heating - I will bear that in mind
when I change over.

This year is CAT5 year at home, nothing will have a discreet wire.
