Re: new combi boiler

You could try posting to the uk.d-i-y usenet group. There are quite a few
knowledgeable heating engineers who frequent that group. When my boiler
died, their diagnosis of a faulty PCB meant I fixed it myself for £30
instead of the £250 British Gas would have charged. Even if they can't
suggest a fix, they will be able to advise you on a replacement (just
ignore
a character who goes by the name of IMM)

Subject: [ukha_d] new combi boiler

My Ravenheat combi boiler has just died, and it seems unrealistic to
repair it any more.
The engineer (who charged me £170 to get nowhere with mending the
Ravenheat)recommends the Worcester-Bosch 28CDi.
I've not managed to find any sites on the internet that give real
reviews. Are there any "dogs" (apart from Ravenheat), or
"good guys"
in Combis?

I need to get a new one installed NOW due to the weather, and the need
for a hot shower! Any advice on a replacement?

Thanks
James Day
