Hi,

I am thinking of buying my first laptop but am totally confused by the
amount of choice out there.
I am particularly puzzled about cpus because it's been a while since I
built my pc and I have not been following processor developments.

For mobile use which is best AMD or Intel (for that matter which is
best on the desktop too)?

Does one eat batteries quicker than the other? Or is battery power
inversely proportional to processing power, in which case I guess you
have to compromise on one or other?

What about all the sub-varieties: opterons, semprons, celerons. What
do they all mean?!

TIA
Stephen.
