Yup - that adapter has been out for a while but it does only work with the
cards listed there as it isn't anything impressive in itself - it's just an
adapter between the analogue VGA output on a DVI connector and three phonos
- the ATI card itself can be switched to provide component video rather
than
RGB. Quality of the component output is supposed to be pretty good and
there
are component to s-vid converters available but you will usually need to
feed the converters with the same format signal as you want out of the
converter (otherwise you get similar crap conversion issues to what you
already have) which for the UK means that you can't feed in HiDef - it has
to be 576i which I couldn't get the ATI card I tried to support.
