Re: [OT] Sony Vaio VGN-A service manual

I don't have the doc to hand, but when I upgraded the memory in my
VGNA117S, I had to lift the keyboard and the web site advised the
following process:

Look at the bottom of the keyboard under the last row of keys, there
should be 3 small tabs holding the keyboard in place - you need to
push these back - ie towards you; you can then lift the keybaord, but
be very careful as the connector is still attached and you have to
keep the keyboard raised whilst you do any work underneath it, without
damaging the connector

This should give you access to the inner workings - 2nd DIMM at least,
I can't remember if this lets you get to the harddrive too, but I
assume so... I remember a similar bit of puzzling when trying to
upgrade the memory as I could find the slot underneath the laptop, but
not the other! In the end I phoned my supplier who pointed me to the
vaio website - the manual was not an obvious name from what I remember
- I'll see if I can track it down online.

Hope this helps.

-Dan
