Hi,
My MCE 2005 box uses an FX 5750 video card which has both TV and DVI
out. The tuner card is currently being fed via my Sky box with a
composite signal. What I want to do is connect my InFocus ScreenPlay
4805 projector to the DVI out on the video card. I have used the
supplied DVI-VGA adaptor (which came with the video card) and the M1-
DA - VGA cable which came with the projector to test and it seems
fine.
The issue I have is that the connector on the projector does not
seem to be a standard DVI-I one, instead it's this M1-DA thinggy and
I need to run a cable approx 25 feet from the MCE box to where the
projector will finally be hung.
Is there such a thing as a VGA to component cable / DVI-I to
component? Should I be bothering with component at all as the video
in signal is only composite (seems standard to Sky boxes unless I'm
wrong in which case please enlighten me)?
As the MCE can play DVD's we would want the best possible picture
from the projector so perhaps component is the way to go.
I guess what I'm looking for is some cabling advice so if anyone
could reply with possible solutions it would be very very helpful. I
don't want to start spending hundreds of pounds on cables which I
know I could do but want something which will deliver the best
picture against price.
TIA
Darren
