That'll be a faulty iron then :(

Steam leaking into the handle is usual problem.

And for gods sake don’t move the circuit to the unprotected side - the RCD
is trying to save your life !!

Dean.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] RCD intermitantly trips, any advice?

Hi all

been in a new house for about 3 weeks now and the RCD on the CU (only
RCD, not a split unit) has tripped twice. This of course doesnt help
with isolating where the issue might be. It hasnt happened when
switching anything on so nothing obvious. When it went last night,
(according to SWMBO) she was ironing, only other thing going was
washing machine (and a few other applicances that are always on like
oven and MW, computer).

Any one have any suggestions how i might isolated this? Could wire a
few of the circuits to another CU with RCD, if the faulty cct was on
this, would both RCD's trip or just the first one?

thanks for any advice as this is going to be a pain the the butt

Ade
