RE: Re: 4 Mb Broadband offer

Hmmm... I got this the other day:

Great news! Free speed upgrades to all PlusNet customers
--------------------------------------------------------

Following BT's recent announcement that they plan to increase broadband
speeds up to 8Mb across their local exchange network, we are delighted
to offer free speed upgrades and a brand new product range for our
customers.

>From April, you will be able to take advantage of these faster
broadband
speeds as they become available, giving you a free-of-charge upgrade to
the fastest broadband available.

BT is working hard to ensure that as many people as possible are able to
receive the maximum available speeds. Further, BT Wholesale's changes
enable us to determine our customers' actual speed setting, instead of
this being set at BT's local exchange.

Jonathan.

Isn't this service only available in exchanges with their equipment i.e.
London? I think that's why you get better u/l?

Paul.

I spoke to the sales rep today and asked him about the 400K upload.=20
He said that in practice the users are experiencing 512K upload=20
speeds, but this may decrease as take up increases, the minimum=20
speed will be 400K even when they have more subscribers. The service=20
is for 1 month - no 12 month commitment.
