I'll third that - VPOP3.
Its running on a little p3 server (Which does everything!) for an 8 user
office of a charity I look after. Absolutely bullet proof, been running it
for 3-4 years at least.

Not free, but I've used VPOP3 for many years. It does what you want. I
collect from four POP3 boxes, including gmail via stunnel, and one via
spampal. Mail is delivered to three or four boxes boxes and I use webmail
to
my server when away.
